Starting it up.

So, I have been assigned some time and energy to the GDC. I am pretty excited about working in there with students and staff. Currently I am putting together some diversity dinner programs, workshops, and dialogues. The first, I have been told, needs to revolve around the recent Pimps and Hoes wall. Yeah, seriously, NCF had a Pimps and Hoes theme party. (Yikes.) Other stuff that has been happening includes the Black History month bulletin board finally up in the GDC, I'm starting to work with Dr. Dungy and some amazing students on the Multicultural Fest (April 5th), and continued work with the Gender and Diversity RA committee who are bringing in a speaker next week. Details in RA email and flyers all over the academic side of campus.

I am sure there is a ton of other stuff going on too, but that is what is on my radar and new in my new position at the GDC.

Please get involved. Let me know what you want and how you want it facilitated. I will advise/mentor/guide whatever you throw at me as best as I can, but as you all know and I have been slowly learning, nothing will change (even if its for the better) on this campus without loud aggressive voices driving students to drive administration to drive faculty to do something.

Let's do something good.

Peace,
J.
